今回は、たばこと塩の博物館所蔵の塩袋に加え、もはや現地でも入手不可能な百〜数十年前のオールド、アンティークの毛織物を集めた「丸山コレクション（初公開）」の中から、塩袋や鞍袋（ホリジン）など、生活のさまざまな場面で用いられる袋物を中心に、草木染めの深い色合いと各部族の誇りを織り込んだ百点余の作品を選ばれ、展示される。また、各部族の典型的な絨毯やキリム（平織物）、食卓布（ソフレ）なども交え、精緻な手わざと意匠の世界が紹介される。荒涼とした乾燥地に根付いた遊牧という文化が生み出した、私たち農耕民とは異なる生活用具の放つ“迫力”と“美しさ”に触れてみてはいかがでしょう。
