Shibuya culture PROJECT

Finally came the Christmas season, also in Shibuya, to a large tree from the cute tin ornaments, many of illumination has colored the city. This time I would like to introduce three illumination spots in the city of Shibuya that I found on walking.

渋谷駅からハチ公広場へ降り立つとまず目に入ってくるのが、人ごみから突き出した青い光だ。近づくと、待ち合わせの人々がごった返すハチ公のすぐ脇に、キレイな円錐に剪定された大きなクリスマスツリーが青白く輝いているのがわかる。「B'z」マークの赤い星が所々に飾られたこのツリー。緑や赤の温かいイメージとは異なる、シンプルでシャープなイメージが目新しい。そして人ごみにつられてスクランブル交差点で足を止めると、目の前の公園通り、左手の道玄坂、右手のガード下まで、道路の両脇に並ぶ落葉樹の枝を、オレンジ色のライトが縁取っているのに気がつく。先の青色B'zツリーと合わせ、この光景の正体は、道玄坂・宮益坂・公園通りの各商店街が中心となって2003年から毎年開催しているイルミネーション「Light-Up Christmas In SHIBUYA」である。約65万個のライトが一斉に点灯。辺りにはケータイを掲げて写真を撮影している人々の姿も数多く、渋谷で最初のイルミネーション・スポットといえる。
Cross the signal and head toward SHIBUYA109 on your left.
The second spot is an intersection with SHIBUYA109 as the axis, looking at Dogenzaka on the left and Bunkamura Street on the right. The cylinder of SHIBUYA109 is decorated like a huge present with red and golden ribbons wrapped around it. In the direction of Dogenzaka, only the light of the row of trees shines brightly while the roadside store turns off the light, creating a calm charm. On the other hand, on Bunkamura-dori, cute three-dimensional lighting with reindeer stands on the streetlight, and welcomes people on the road. There are colorful Christmas trees at the end of each street lamp that leads to Bunkamura. I hope you enjoy the illumination contrast around SHIBUYA109.
After that, turn right after Bunkamura and go through Parco to Koen-dori.
The entrance of PARCO Part 1 is decorated with an 8-meter Christmas tree with a large and small circular lighting panel. Electronic sound flows through the installation location, and the illumination changes according to the music. This extraordinary attempt was made possible through a collaboration between Shibuya Parco and the project “capsule” in which Yasutaka Nakata, known for the production of Perfume and Ami Suzuki, participated.
そして、そこからマルイシティ渋谷へ向かって公園通りを下ると、街路樹の電飾が目に入る。「Colorful X'mas」と題されたこちらのイルミネーションでは、歩道に並ぶ18本の樹木が、紫やピンクなど、これまで見たことのないカラフルイメージに変化する。よく見ると、幹の部分が根本からライトアップされ、時間に合わせてそのライトが切り替わっているのに気がつくだろう。
The third illumination spot is a colorful and mysterious illumination from PARCO Part 1 to Marui City Shibuya. I would like you to stop by the decorations unique to Shibuya that go beyond the frame of existing images.
