今回の追悼企画ではモハメド・アリに関連するドキュメンタリー2作品が上映される。一本目は「フェイシング・アリ」（2009年）。ジョージ・フォアマンやジョー・フレージャー、ラリー・ホームズなど、アリとリングで実際に対戦した10人のボクサーたちの当時を振り返り、アリが自分の人生にどう影響を与えたかを語り尽くす。 アリの全盛期の貴重な証言や、ヘビー級の強靭な鋼の肉体がぶつかり合う試合の圧倒される映像なども交えながら、なぜ彼が「神」と呼ばれるようになったのか、その魅力に迫る。同作は強いメッセージ性のあるドキュメンタリー制作に定評のあるピート・マコーマック監督が手掛け、2009年10 月にバンクーバー国際映画祭のドキュメンタリー部門で観客賞を受賞している。


2本目は、歴史的な音楽祭を追ったドキュメンタリー「ソウルパワー」（2008年）。“キンシャサの奇跡”と称された世紀の一戦モハメド・アリ対ジョージ・フォアマンの対戦に先駆け、「ブラック・ウッドストック」と呼ばれる3日間におよぶ伝説の音楽フェスティバル「ザイール'74」が開催された。ジェームス・ブラウンをはじめ、B.B.キング、セリア・クルース、ミリアム・マケバ、ビル・ウィザース、ザ・スピナーズ、ザ・クルセイダーズなど、アフリカン・アメリカン・ミュージシャンらとアフリカのミュージシャンが競演する貴重なライブ映像のほか、コンサートが開催されるまでの困難なプロセスや、モハメド・アリのトークなどを織り交ぜながら伝説のフェスの舞台裏を捉えている。 監督は、アカデミー賞長編ドキュメンタリー賞を獲得した『モハメド・アリ　かけがえのない日々』（1997年）で編集を担当したジェフリー・レヴィ＝ヒントが手掛けた。
