昨年は、「富士山」が世界文化遺産に、和食がユネスコ無形文化遺産に登録され、国際的にも日本の文化的な魅力に注目が集まった一年だった。そんな日本カルチャーを代表する分野の一つとして、忘れてはならないのがサブカルチャー。日本のアニメ・マンガがアジア諸国で放送・出版されたり、コスプレがヨーロッパの愛好家によって楽しまれたりと、日本発サブカルチャーは独自の発展を遂げて、世界に広がりを見せている。 先日はオリンピックが閉幕したが、国際情勢が微妙な均衡状態を保っている現在において、スポーツやカルチャーは、政治経済に傾倒しがちな国際交流を新鮮な感覚で押し広げてくれるとても魅力的な視点。今回は世界に誇る日本の大きな魅力の一つでもある「サブカルチャー」をテーマに、現在渋谷で公開中の作品をピックアップした。 ヒーローに憧れる若者が等身大で活躍する「キック・アス ジャスティスフォーエバー」、未だファンも多いファミコンゲームの面白さを伝える「ゲームセンターCX THE MOVIE 1986 マイティボンジャック」、マンガという大衆メディアを通して世界に切り込む「マンガで世界を変えようとした男」。好きなモノへの思いを貫く人々の姿は、国籍を問わず美しい。
