Shibuya-ku, petting plant Center June 19 (Friday) to 23 days (Tuesday), Firefly Board "firefly Evening 2015" has been held.

今年で11回目を迎える同企画は、2005年の同センター開園以来毎年開催しているもの。初年度の来場者数は約2,500人で、以降毎年1,000人ほどずつ増加していたが、2010年に前年の約倍数が来場し7,000人以上を記録。年々来場者は増え、昨年は5日間で延べ9734人が来場した。

同センターではゲンジボタルとヘイケボタルを飼育しており、一度に2種のホタルを観賞することができる。 　

初日は雨にもかかわらず、最終入館時間20時15分でも20分待ち。昨年は19時前後だと連日40分待ちだったとか。近所の人だけでなく、テレビや新聞で知った人たちが大勢訪れている。

100〜200匹ほど放し飼いされるホタル。外が明るい時間帯はヘイケボタル（16時〜19時ごろが見頃）で、日没後19時ごろからゲンジボタルが見頃になる。3階ではホタルの生態を紹介するDVD（20分）も随時上映している。
